Hostess Monday With Helen

Hello everyone - it's Helen here to share a card with you.  As Father's Day is fast approaching, I've chosen to make a card which could be used for Dad or in fact for any male, young or old.

Here's what I've used:

Race Car Scottie Digi Stamp
Chevron Pastels Digital Paper Set
Keeping In Touch Sentiment Set
blue card
black card and paper
circle dies (2 sizes next to each other)
red gems

And this is what you need to do:

1. Cut a piece of blue card measuring 13cm square, a sheet of black paper measuring 12.5cm square and a piece of the blue pastel paper from the pack measuring 12cm square.  Stick these together as shown below:

2. Next cut a strip of blue card measuring 26cm by 4.5cm and score and fold it at 13cm.  Cut a piece of black paper measuring 12.5cm by 4cm and a piece of the patterned paper to measure 12cm by 3.5cm.  Attach this to the strip as shown below:

3. This is what the strip looks like folded in two:

4. Next attach the back of the strip to the back of your card as shown in the photo below:

5. And here's what it looks like from the front:

6. Print the digi stamp and add the sentiment underneath and colour.  Mat this on to a black card circle (use the next die up in size to cut the mat):

7. Stick the circle on to the front of strip - remembering only to put glue of tape on that part of the circle which will be on the strip:

8. Add some gems to finish your card.

Here's a side view of the card:

I hope you've enjoyed my little project.

Hostess Monday with Larelyn

Hi Delightful Friends,

It's my turn to share a Hostess Monday Project.
When I saw this large double bow cut file in the store, I knew I wanted to create a project using it.

There is a hexagon card base under the bow so this could double as a card AND package decoration!  I thought Starz the Unicorn was the perfect addition!

Bow card template

Starz the Unicorn

I colored Starz using Copic markers.  The bow papers are from Doodlebug Designs.  Because I used card stock I chose to staple the bow parts and used Terrifically Tacky (red) double sided tape to adhere the bow to the card base.
